UK school admissions

UK school admissions?
We are moving to London in September - Our kids will come over in Oct or Nov with their Grandparents. I want to find out if the state school system will accept late admissions. The will be schooled where we live until they go therte and will be up to date for their year.. also, how do we go about admissions if they are coming late in the year?

I would suggest contatin the council for the borough into which you are moving and ask them for a list of schools with available places. Generally schools will accept new student at any time as long as there is a place available for them.

it doesn't matter that they are not here at the beginning of term ... by law if children are legally in the country they should be educated you would contact the local authority for the area where you will be living ... either you can contact the Education Department of the local authority or if you know which schools you want them to attend you could also contact the school direct I would suggest you contact the Education Department now, before the schools break up for summer holidays ... most English schools will break up towards the end of July and it would be difficult to contact anyone much during the 6 weeks summer holiday ... if you're not coming to England the dates could be a bit different ... go to the website of the local authority where you will be living and search for "school term dates" and you should find them
