Hi Kyle, If you are looking to work in the US as a doctor, preferably in California there are two pieces of advice I can give. One piece of advice is if you are considering studying in the US for your bachelors degree then you would need to either do your IB or do five A-Levels (most likely a physical science, a social science, English, maths, and a humanities such as philosophy) then take your ACT / SAT about six months before you plan on applying to a US university, and also some schools will require that you take TOEFL. Grades you will need on your A-Levels will need to be at least B grades. Provided you will are accepted, able to get a student visa, and provided you are able to get funding to attending school in the US you next step would be to maintain at least a 3.6 GPA while obtaining your bachelors degree and completing your pre-med courses. Then in your senior year at university you will need to take the MCAT test as preparation for applying to medical school in the US. An alternative route would be to be accepted into medical school in the UK and then contact the Medical Board of California about transferring to the US to work after completing your medical education in the UK. Most likely you will have to take some courses and undergo further training.
