Where should I go to school in the UK

Where should I go to school in the UK?
I'm choosing between York, King's College London, University College London, and Birkbeck. York is the most affordable, obviously. Is KCL as reputable as UCL? Is Birkbeck more of an adult institution? It will be for an MA in English Lit. No random answers, please- Anyone out there familiar with these universities and their departments?

I'm doing MA Eng Lit in York... the faculty is great here and the environment is best for studying, considering the fact that you will have no entertainment at all during the entire year. What's more, it's second in the country after Oxford!

University College or Kings. I studied English and Lingusistics at Westminster who have their buildings not far from the UCL buildings on Southampton Row. The British Library is at the end of the street which is a fantastic resource and you have all the other institutions nearby such as the National Gallery, British Museum etc. You will be suprised how much you use them! Also there are all the theatres in London, including Shakespears globe on the South Bank. UCL also has a great Student Union, with a pool in the basement, which is one of the better pools in central London actually, and very good student facilities. I know London can be expensive but for a year its worth it. You can easily find a cheaper place to live if you move further out to zone 3 or 4 and also easily find a job. Good luck!
